Q.
Which MicroCare Solvents Are the Least Flammable?
|
A.
|
Many companies worry about flammability and flash points, and rightfully so. Handling, storing and using flammable solvents is an inherently risky task. Special precautions must be taken to insure the unthinkable never happens. Use the NFPA "Safety Diamond" to help understand, communicate and minimize fire risks.
The easiest option is simply to select a nonflammable solvent. MicroCare has many nonflammable cleaners. Our favorites are:
- PowerClean™ -- (#MCC-PW2) Super-strong, fast-drying and engineered for lead-free fluxes and
pastes.
- SuprClean™ -- (#MCC-SPR) A very strong cleaner, fast-drying, and your best choice for highly activated traditional fluxes
- Flux Remover C -- (#MCC-FRC) A medium-strong cleaner, fast-drying, and your best choice when you need a cleaner in a variety of packages, such as an aerosol and bulk and in pump sprays as well. This way one MSDS covers all the different cleaning situations.
- Heavy Duty Degreaser C -- (#MCC-HDC) A medium-strong cleaner designed to remove organic contamination.
- Contact Cleaner C -- (#MCC-CCC) A mild, fast-drying solvent designed to flush residues from delicate surfaces.
Another option to improve worker safety is to use the Trigger Grip™ system. With this nifty tool, your people will be using pre-packaged solvents and never have to pour chemicals from one container into another. No fuss, no muss, no spills. In terms of safety, the Trigger Grip system (shown here) is be a huge improvement!
MicroCare also has a number of nonflammable solvents for cleaning fiber optics, photonics, oxygen systems and other applications. Contact us for details.
