Early Achiever

Mike Arpin was raised in Providence, Rhode Island and spent his early years there.  “I was a pretty mainstream kid,” Mike recalled.  He enjoyed sports in high school and became an accomplished runner. “I went to a Class A high school, so there was lots of competition for the big teams. But I could run fast, so I focused on track and field and cross country,” he explained. Mike was an all-scholastic champion, winning the state title in multiple middle-distance events including the 1,000-meter race.

Staying close to home, Mike studied at Providence College earning his BS in Business Administration.

“The key to successful sales is presenting options and solutions that customers didn’t know you could do.”



Loads of Experience

His first professional job was in production and procurement with Raytheon, a major defense contractor. Mike also worked as a Senior Buyer at Triangle Wire & Cable out of Pawtucket, RI and at Bostik, Inc. a sealants and adhesives manufacturer in Middleton, MA.

Mike entered the chemical industry in 2000 when he became a Sales Account Manager at Univar, the leading chemical distributor in the United States. Throughout his 18-year tenure with Univar, Mike supported customers in a variety of industries including food, pharmaceutical, water treatment, personal care, adhesives and chemical distribution.

“I’ve filled a lot of different roles over the years including strategic planning, product development, procurement, accounting, and technical sales,” Mike said. “I’ve seen and done a lot and my diverse background really helps me with my work here at MicroCare.”

Solution-Based Selling

Because of his diverse background and hands-on experiences, Mike is very adept at solution-based selling.  Problem solving is the core of Mike’s sales approach. “I like finding answers for my customers,” Mike said. He understands that supporting customers is more than just pitching a product. “Whether it’s a process change, or a health and safety improvement, the key to successful sales is presenting options and solutions that customers didn’t know you could do,” he said.

Happy to be at MicroCare

Mike joined the MicroCare team in 2018 focusing on our Medical and Precision cleaning customers.  He enjoys the positive MicroCare culture and how employees interact with each other and with our customers. “MicroCare is a world-class company with the right people and infrastructure in place to help everyone succeed,” he explained.

On a Personal Note

Today, Mike lives in Andover, MA with his very active family. He is married to TerriAnne, a local teacher’s assistant, who is also a champion marathon runner.  They have three children (two girls and a boy) who keep them busy with all their sports and other school activities. Mike continues to run, swim and cycle to keep grounded and stay fit. Mike also uses his love of running to help support his community.  For many years he served as director for the Andover Days 5K, a road race that raises funds to support his local youth center.
