A Helping Hand
“As an Inside Sales Coordinator I get to do a little of everything to help our customers get the right products as quickly as possible,” Mimi said. That includes order entry, order processing and answering any questions customers might have. Whether it’s by email or phone customers know they can reach out to me for help.”
Turning Customers into Friends
“The best part of my job is talking with customers from all over the country. We form a bond and it’s often like talking to friends,” she explained. MicroCare has a very diverse group of customers, each with their own projects and special cleaning requirements. It’s surprising how many different types of industries need our specialty solvents for their cleaning needs.”
On a Personal Note
Mimi was born in Toronto Canada, lived in Jamaica as a child and then later moved to Connecticut where she spent many years living with her beloved Grandmother.
Today Mimi lives in central Connecticut with her husband of 19 years, Shorney. They will soon be empty nesters as their daughter, the youngest with 2 older brothers, prepares to leave for college next year. They also share their home with two little Labradoodle dogs.
Mimi has been an avid photographer since high school. She always had a camera in her hands and was constantly taking pictures. “I love photography because it helps me capture the beauty I see in everything,” Mimi said. She studied art and photography in college and then went on to start her own business, ASP Photography in 2011.
“I love capturing the look on peoples’ faces,” Mimi explained. “I can get any kid to smile. To catch their expression is magical.” Mimi spends nights and weekends photographing weddings and other events including our own 2018 MicroCare sales meeting and gala.
When not working, Mimi serves on the committee for kjlife, a volunteer organization established to remember Kenneth J. Joyce who was killed in a skiing accident. Every year, the organization coordinates a full day of flag football competitions, including celebrity appearances, by UConn players. The funds raised at the event are used to support up to eight scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
