IPC/APEX 2015 exhibition in San Diego

The IPC/APEX 2015 exhibition in San Diego was a very successful show. The attitude across the industry was optimistic and we heard that companies have capital to spend on new equipment. Customers visited the MicroCare stand to discuss our Presaturated Wipes, the Circuit board cleaning station, vapor degreasing and everything in between. We noticed a surge of attendees that came into San Diego from Mexico and it was great to have our new regional manager, Agustin Mireles, at the stand to work with these prospects. As the Mayor of Electronics, Russell Claybrook of MicroCare had friends came from all over the hall to visit.

New technologies in cleaning were rare except at the MicroCare booth. One exciting development was the new cleaning molecule from Honeywell, and we discussed opportunities with Kimberly Miller from that company.

One conclusion we heard from everybody that technology continues to advance at a ferocious rate. Components, apertures, etc. are continuing to decrease in size, while placement rates are approaching 150,000 chips per hour. Well, it’s clear that with smaller the chips and tighter the standoffs, the need for cost-effective critical cleaning becomes even more urgent.
