MicroCare Appoints New Regional Sales Manager to Support Growing Mexican Market

NEW BRITAIN, CT – May 2014 – MicroCare Corp., a leading global manufacturer of precision cleaning, coating and lubrication products, announced today the addition of Agustin Mireles as regional sales manager to exclusively serve the rapidly growing markets in Mexico.  Based in El Paso, Texas, Mireles will oversee MicroCare support of maquiladoras in Mexico, which have been booming in the past few years with the surge in companies moving manufacturing from Asia to Mexico.

“Because of proximity to the U.S. market, the NAFTA treaty and the availability of skilled labor, this may be the beginning of a golden time for the Mexican economy,” said Dan Sinclair, MicroCare national sales manager. “With Agustin’s experience and knowledge of the Mexican market, companies across Mexico will have full access to the trusted MicroCare expertise and innovative, reliable cleaning products and lubricants.”

MicroCare has been shipping product to Mexico for over a decade, serving customers in many industries, including electronics, metal finishing, transportation, photonics, medical devices and aerospace. Mireles and his team will bring new customer support to the full array of MicroCare products, including electronics cleaners, the Sticklers® line of fiber optic cleaning products, the Duraglide™ line of medical device lubricants, Dupont™ Vertrel® cleaning fluids and the full array of MicroCare brand precision cleaners.

“The telecom markets in Mexico are large, diverse and growing rapidly, and we look forward to serving these companies with our state-of-the-art Sticklers products formulated specifically to clean fiber optic splices and connectors,” Mireles noted. “Electronics assembly is also a key market that MicroCare serves, providing customers with high purity cleaning products engineered expressly for electronics assembly.”

Mireles earned a bachelor’s of science degree in chemical engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Durango in 2009, and immediately followed it with a master’s of arts degree in environmental management from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in Mexico City. He has worked as an industrial chemical analyst and subsequently as a regional sales manager for a major multinational company.

Northern Mexico is a “target-rich” environment for MicroCare. Multinational companies have learned that it is very difficult to serve the North American marketplace from across the Pacific with “just-in-time” inventories. Those difficulties combined with other logistical and regulatory challenges in bringing products from Asia have resulted in large companies investing heavily in Mexico with expansive manufacturing and assembly operations for electronics, automotive and medical devices.

“This new sales effort is focused on serving our customers,” Sinclair summarized. “With the addition of Agustin’s focused presence, the MicroCare sales team will significantly increase our efforts to help all of our sales reps, distributors and end-users in Mexico discover the cost-saving benefits of MicroCare cleaning products.”
