POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Shipping and Receiving Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring order fulfillment, the shipping of finished goods, tracking inventory and receiving raw materials into inventory.  You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with DOT and IATA shipping regulations, while working in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA statements.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
•    Review work orders submitted for shipment to ensure accurate carrier, address, and shipping payment method, advise Supervisor of any discrepancies.
•    Pick products from finished goods inventory off Work Order and advise Customer Relations of any stock issues.
•    Prepare products for shipment either via a small package carrier or on a skid for an LTL/TL carrier based on specification from customer or MicroCare “best way” assessment. 
•    Utilize UPS/Fed-Ex shipping software along with LTL shipping software to process shipments. 
•    Coordinate the preparation and organization of bills of lading (BOL), packing slips, invoices and required export license or compliance documents.
•    Maintain accurate weights for documentation on work orders and batch records.
•    Utilize ERP to record and track all shipping transactions.
•    Troubleshoot shipping delays or changes with carriers and communicates to customers.
•    Ensure shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling.
•    Investigate, resolve and document shipping non-conformance.
•    Coordinate workforce to meet daily shipping, receiving, inspection and stocking needs. 
•    Monitor production schedule and associated work orders. 
•    Keep accurate production, inventory and quality control records.
•    Ensure safe, efficient and effective operation of production equipment.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.              
 
COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE: 

•    Possess a strong sense of time organization, prioritization and urgency
•    Detail oriented
•    Knowledge of local, federal and state shipping regulations
•    Excellent organizational skills
•    Forklift Experience
•    Familiarity with business-to-business distributor practices
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    4+ years of Shipping and Receiving experience
•    Excellent mathematical skills
•    Strong technical skills with Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, ERP
•    Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment
•    Must be able to read, write and speak English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

•    1+ year of Lead experience
•    Previous experience shipping hazardous materials 
•    Familiar with DOT and IATA shipping regulations
•    Train the Trainer/Forklift
•    Experience using electric pallet jacks
•    Valid Driver’s license
 
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

•    Lifting required of up to 70 lbs unassisted and over 70 lbs with lifting aides
•    Continuous reaching/working overhead
•    Frequently stands, walks, sits, climbs, pushes, pulls, and carries items 
•    Work environment subject to seasonal temperature variations
