If so, MicroCare, LLC is looking for you!  We are currently searching for a Process Engineer Intern to work with us on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8am to 5pm schedule.

We are headquartered in central Connecticut accessible from both Greater Hartford and New Haven.  

POSITION OVERVIEW: 
This position is responsible for the observation, documentation and support in the development of process improvements within manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITEIS:
1.    Document best practices and routines to improve production rates and quality of output.
2.    Optimize manufacturing process by implementing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods.
3.    Provide Director of Manufacturing with process and equipment information to support the calculation of production, labor, and material costs.
4.    Measure and report equipment production rates, schedules, uptime, downtime, and scrap, recommending and assisting with implementing policies to improve manufacturing productivity, reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
5.    Assist in developing training for Technicians and the successful implementation of process changes.
6.    Promote an incident free workplace by complying with safety policies and procedures and participating in company safety trainings.
7.    Other duties as assigned.

•    Adept at documenting processes, identifying best practices, and developing procedures to document the core competencies required in our processes 
•    Possess strong mechanical aptitude
•    Ability to persuade others to change existing practices
•    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Minimum of 2 years education in process in pursuit of a Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering degree
•    Experience working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Excellent analytical and math skills, strong attention to detail 
•    Excellent communication skills:  inquiring, writing and presenting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Previous Internship experience within a manufacturing environment of a chemical blend and package environment
•    Knowledge of OSHA and Haz-Mat rules and regulations
•    Understanding of electronics, wiring, pneumatics tools and PLC

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Lifting required of up to 50 lbs unassisted and over 50 lbs with lifting aides
•    Frequently stands, walks, stoops, crouches, climbs, pushes and pulls while on manufacturing floor
•    Work environment is subject to seasonal temperature variation
