Larson Joins MicroCare, Will Expand Executive Recruiting, Speed Growth
[New Britain, CT] MicroCare Corporation is pleased to announce Ms. Maryblaise Larson, of Madison CT, has joined the MicroCare team as the Human Resources Generalist/Talent Acquisition Lead. In this newly-created position, she will be responsible for recruitment, employment procedures and other Human Resource functions. Ms. Larson joins MicroCare after being an executive recruiter at the prestigious Kaiser Whitney executive recruiting firm in New Haven. She held similar posts at New York City-based Resources In Recruitment and at Quantum Management, Canada’s largest executive search firm.
“It’s very exciting to be able to attract a talent like Maryblaise,” said Heather Gombos, MicroCare Vice President of Operations. “She has such a depth of experience, plus the hands-on skill of finding candidates to build a talent pipeline. Having her on our team will make our growth at MicroCare a much smoother, more manageable process.”
A key portion of Ms. Larson’s new duties will involve locating qualified candidates to fill the numerous openings at MicroCare. “MicroCare has been on a growth streak for the past three or four years,” noted Tom Tattersall, MicroCare Chief Operating Officer. “We’ve added two new manufacturing facilities, a dozen senior management positions and probably 20 or more manufacturing positions over that time. We’re constantly on the look-out to upgrade the skills of our team, in order to manage this very healthy growth.”
In her new role, Ms. Larson will focus on recruiting quality candidates for all the new positions at MicroCare. Using expert sourcing and interviewing skills, she will identify potential employees with the right technical skills. She also will handle reference checks, negotiate compensation, extend job offers, execute employee on-boarding and ensure compliance with labor laws.
“I’m very pleased to be moving over to the MicroCare team,” Ms. Larson said. “Segueing from the vendor side of executive placement to the client side is a total change. It’s exciting to be joining a winning team!”
Ms. Larson studied to be an English teacher at the State University of New York at Brockport and taught Junior High School after graduation. She’s had a diverse career, and even was a DJ on late-night radio in the 1990s in Rochester, New York. She’s a self-proclaimed “foodie” with a passion for baking. She also is a highly skilled potter and has been “throwing pots” since the early 1980s. Ms. Larson is married and lives in southern Connecticut.
