MicroCare Adds New Facility in Singapore, Expands Global Footprint
MicroCare Appoints Jerald Chan to Manage New Asian Subsidiary
NEW BRITAIN, CT – May 2014 – MicroCare Corp., a leading global manufacturer of precision cleaning, coating and lubrication products, announced today plans to open a distribution center in Singapore to serve their rapidly-expanding customer base in the Pacific Rim. This new facility will support end-users located throughout the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) marketplace as well as the greater China marketplace. Managing the new division will be Jerald Chan, who was recently hired as regional sales manager.
The new facility will house a sales staff, a fully stocked warehouse and a testing lab. It will support customer requirements for the full array of MicroCare products, including electronics cleaners, the Sticklers™ line of fiber optic cleaning tools, the Duraglide™ line of medical device lubricants, the Dupont™ Vertrel® cleaning fluids and the full array of MicroCare brand precision cleaners and degreasers. The office will begin operations May 19th and be fully operational by the end of the summer 2014.
“This new staff and facility are based on the requirements of our customers,” said MicroCare Vice President – International Mike Jones. “It will help us serve customers across the ASEAN marketplace from one large, efficient and centralized warehouse. We’ll have local sales people, local office staff, local inventory and local service and support.”
Chan earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in marketing management from Murdoch University of Western Australia. Prior to joining MicroCare, he managed the Asia-Pacific sales operations for a German company providing high-tech electrical storage for off-grid sites. Chan’s responsibilities will include sales, marketing and administration of the MicroCare network of distributors, sales reps and end-users from Southeast Asia through China and northward to Korea and Japan. Chan will report to MicroCare Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Tattersall.
“Jerald has all the right technical skills but, even more importantly, he has the customer-driven attitude that has made MicroCare so successful around the globe,” said Tattersall. “Having Jerald on our team, as well as having a full-time sales presence in the heart of the Asian market, will allow MicroCare to focus on the key goal of helping customers clean better, faster, safer and more affordably.”
The new facility will be the third distribution center for MicroCare, which has its main factory and warehouse about two hours northeast of New York City and a distribution and sales center in Belgium. Because MicroCare has a global customer base, the new facility in Singapore also will be very useful for multinational customers who require the availability of consistent, high-quality cleaning products all around the globe.
