MicroCare Helps Families Have a Healthy Thanksgiving

This holiday season MicroCare employees are helping families have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.  Employees donated 211 lbs. of non-perishable food items to the New Britain Food and Resource Center in New Britain, CT.

There are over 600 families expected to visit the food pantry for their Thanksgiving meal this year. Many of those include people that require a special low salt and or low sugar diet to stay healthy.

MicroCare employees rose to the challenge, donating healthier low salt, low sugar, low fat and whole grain versions of traditional holiday foods.

“We are proud to be able to partner with the New Britain Food and Resource Center and to help support our neighbors in need, including those with special dietary needs,” said Guylaine Guerette, MicroCare Marketing Manager. “Thank you to all of our employees for their generous donations.”

The New Britain Food and Resource Center is part of the broader Human Resources Agency of New Britain, Inc. (HRA) that has been helping local families for more than 50 years. It is a multi-service, non-profit organization dedicated to increasing economic self-sufficiency among individuals and families residing in New Britain and surrounding towns. In 2017, HRA helped over 26,000 individuals and families move closer to becoming self-sufficient.
