How should Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant be used?
Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant should first be diluted according to package directions before use. Once prepared, this EPA-registered intermediate-level disinfectant can be used for healthcare surface cleaning, disinfection, and instrument processing applications in medical, dental, school, workplace, gym, spa, and clinical environments.
For one-step cleaning and disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces that are not visibly soiled, spray or apply the diluted Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant directly onto the surface using paper towels or 4 x 4 gauze pads. Surfaces should remain visibly wet for a full five-minute contact time to achieve proper disinfection and tuberculocidal performance.
For surfaces contaminated with visible blood, organic matter, or body soils, CDC and OSHA guidelines recommend a two-step cleaning and disinfection process. First, spray or apply the diluted disinfectant onto the surface or wiping material and clean away visible soils. Discard used towels or gauze after cleaning. Then reapply fresh Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant and keep the surface visibly wet for a total of five minutes to complete the disinfection process and support infection prevention protocols.
Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant may also be used as an instrument holding and cleaning solution when compatible with instrument manufacturer instructions. Fill a pan or ultrasonic cleaning tank with enough prepared disinfectant solution to completely cover instruments and soak for five minutes. Avoid prolonged soaking times greater than one hour unless otherwise directed by the device manufacturer.
Designed for healthcare and clinical surface disinfection, Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant is compatible with many common healthcare surfaces and devices, including countertops, stainless steel, metals, vinyl, plastics, glass, dental units, exam tables, wheelchairs, IV poles, infusion equipment, keyboards, phones, and other high-touch surfaces.
Its water-based, alcohol-free (at use dilution), bleach-free, and ammonium-free formula helps reduce the risk of surface damage while providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against many viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens in one minute and tuberculocidal disinfection in five minutes.
