I mixed Spec Clean™ Evacuation System Cleaner at the correct dilution (one ounce in one quart tap water) and the solution turned clear! What happened?

Spec Clean™ Evacuation System Cleaner is designed to be diluted at one ounce per one quart of tap water (or one liter). In some cases, the diluted solution may appear clear instead of its normal color. This typically happens because municipal tap water often contains varying levels of chlorine or other water treatment chemicals added by local water treatment facilities.

If chlorine levels in the tap water are unusually high, they may cause the diluted Spec Clean™ Evacuation System Cleaner solution to lose its color. Even when the solution becomes clear, the cleaner remains effective and can still be safely used to clean and deodorize dental and surgical evacuation systems, suction lines, and portable suction devices.

Do not add any other chemicals, dyes, or coloring agents to the diluted solution. Spec Clean™ Evacuation System Cleaner is formulated to provide effective cleaning performance when mixed as directed.

Spec Clean™ Evacuation System Cleaner is a concentrated evacuation line cleaner and deodorizer designed for dental and surgical environments. Its mildly acidic, non-foaming formula helps remove prophy paste, fluoride gel, varnish, blood, mucous, and other organic soils while helping keep suction tubing and vacuum pumps free flowing and odor free. The fast-mixing liquid concentrate leaves no residue that could contribute to clogging and is tested for compatibility with evacuation system materials and components.
