What are the chemical actives in Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant?

Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant contains a water-based dual synthetic phenolic disinfectant formula with the active ingredients o-phenylphenol and o-benzyl-p-chlorophenol. These synthetic phenolic compounds are widely recognized for providing reliable broad-spectrum antimicrobial performance while maintaining low toxicity and material compatibility for healthcare and clinical disinfection applications.

As an EPA-registered intermediate-level disinfectant, Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant is formulated to help clean and disinfect hard, non-porous surfaces in healthcare facilities, dental offices, schools, workplaces, gyms, spas, and other commercial environments. The disinfectant is effective against many viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens in one minute and provides tuberculocidal disinfection in five minutes.

The water-based disinfectant formula helps surfaces remain wet for the full required contact time to support effective infection prevention and cross-contamination control. Unlike many harsher disinfectants, Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant is alcohol-free (at use dilution), bleach-free, and ammonium-free, helping reduce the risk of surface damage to valuable healthcare equipment and high-touch surfaces.

Recent independent laboratory testing has reaffirmed the safe use of diluted Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant with bare hands when no biohazards are present. However, gloves should always be worn when handling or diluting concentrated disinfectant solutions in accordance with healthcare safety and OSHA protocols.

Spec Clean™ Concentrated Disinfectant is compatible with many commonly used healthcare and office surfaces, including stainless steel, metals, vinyl, plastics, glass, dental units, exam tables, wheelchairs, IV poles, keyboards, phones, infusion equipment, and other high-touch surfaces.
