Melissa Benkert - The Sales and Marketing Chameleon

Sales and new customer development is Melissa Benkert’s specialty.  She started at Certol, now MicroCare Medical Infection Prevention, in April 2019. In her role as Sales and Marketing Specialist for our medical and dental infection prevention lines, she organizes and executes our medical and dental industry trade shows, manages existing customer accounts and spearheads new customer development.

Working in many areas within sales and marketing require me to be like a chameleon, adaptive to the situation.”

An Open Mind & Flexibility

As a Certified Athletic Trainer, Melissa knows flexibility for performance is key. However, the flexibility here at MicroCare has a different meaning.  Melissa attributes her sales success to staying adaptable and open in her sales style. She says, “I approach my customers and their cleaning and disinfecting challenges with an open mind and flexibility. Working in many areas within sales and marketing requires me to be like a chameleon, adaptive to the situation, so that I can find the best ways to help my customers.”

The Problem Solver

Melissa uses a problem-solution oriented trouble shooting sales style when working with her customers. “My way of approaching the customer is to provide a solution,” she said. “I want to find out what problems they’re having. If I can find out what’s going on and why, I can deliver a better solution,” Melissa concluded.

A Supportive Team

Melissa enjoys working at MicroCare because of the ethics of the company, the team-building, and the quality of the people. “The culture of MicroCare is supportive, encouraging and positive, a real motivator for success,” she said.

Camping and Experimental Cooking

When not traveling to exhibit at tradeshows or to visit customers, Melissa makes her home about 20 minutes outside the MicroCare office near Denver, CO with her boyfriend, Riley and their two shepherd mix dogs.  Together they enjoy camping, mountain biking, paddle boarding and golfing. They take trips every year to Moab, UT and camp in the desert with their dogs. Closer to home, Melissa makes her own homemade pasta and is currently experimenting with new sauces.
