Trenessa Rioux - The Goal-Setting Chemist
Trenessa Rioux joined MicroCare in 2021 as a Chemical Engineer after graduating cum laude in with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. It is her responsibility to conduct laboratory tests to assist in making qualitative and quantitative analyses. The results of her analysis help in the research and development of new products and processes and quality control.
“I like that the work we do here is never the same every day. There are always new projects to work on and new challenges to keep you thinking."
Trenessa always enjoyed chemistry. She previously worked as a lab technician at an aluminum anodizing company and while in school worked as chemistry tutor.
The Flexible Goal-Setter
The first thing Trenessa does when starting a project is to set some clear and concise goals for time management and focused research which allows her to ultimately reach a satisfactory solution. But if the focus or priorities of the projects change, Trenessa is ready to flex and adjust the goals as needed.
Trenessa enjoys the variety of the work here at MicroCare. “I like that the work we do here is never the same every day. There are always new projects to work on and new challenges to keep you thinking,” she explained.
Outside the Lab
Trenessa lives close to the Connecticut MicroCare headquarters with her best friend. They share their home with Trenessa’s calico cat, Momo. Outside the lab, she enjoys hanging out with friends. She lifts weights as a hobby and likes staying active with walking, hiking and skiing. When not outdoors, Trenessa reads novels and binge-watches TV. She is also a bit of a “foodie”. “I enjoy cooking, but mostly just eating, really good food,” she jokes.
