Vice President, Business Operations

Heather Gombos - Multi-Talented Business Leader

Heather Gombos is a dynamic leader who has dedicated over three decades to shaping the culture and success of MicroCare. Her journey with the company began long before her official start in 1994, with childhood memories of visiting the office on Saturdays with her father and company founder, Chris Jones. From these early experiences, Heather has evolved into one of the company’s most respected figures, having held nearly every position in the organization.

In 2024, Heather earned her MBA from Central Connecticut State University, demonstrating her commitment to growth and development. Her diverse experience spans marketing, sales, human resources, and business operations, contributing to the MicroCare culture of respect and collaboration. Heather’s leadership has fostered an environment where employees are valued, empowered, and encouraged to grow, resulting in long-lasting careers within the company.

A Journey Through MicroCare
Heather’s professional journey at MicroCare began in marketing and inside sales. Her energetic personality and strong sense of humor quickly earned her a promotion to outside sales, where she managed the Midwest U.S. and Mexico. Throughout her career, Heather has taken on a variety of roles across the organization, from marketing to sales, and even working on the factory floor to ensure operations ran smoothly. She has always been willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

In 1998, Heather took a brief hiatus from MicroCare to pursue a business degree at Emmanuel College in Boston. She later worked for Oxford Health as a quality supervisor, gaining invaluable experience in health insurance and quality programs. This experience proved essential when she returned to MicroCare in 2002, where she took on the responsibility of managing business operations and heading the newly-formed Human Resources Department. Her focus on creating policies, procedures, and protocols helped guide the company through a period of rapid growth.

Leadership and Vision
Heather's leadership style emphasizes building consensus and listening to others' opinions. She values the input of her team and believes in treating people with respect and understanding. As Vice President of Business Operations, she has played a key role in shaping the MicroCare organizational culture, which is founded on respect, collaboration, and inclusivity. Heather is proud of the positive working environment at MicroCare, where employees are encouraged to share their ideas, and where everyone knows each other’s name.

MicroCare Cares
Under her guidance, MicroCare has also embraced community involvement, supporting charitable organizations focused on health, education, and the environment. Heather is particularly proud of the company’s efforts to help local high school students develop essential soft skills, such as time management, professionalism, and interview techniques—skills that are crucial for future success in the workforce.

Personal Life and Community Engagement
When not working, Heather enjoys spending time with her busy, active family of whom she is tremendously proud. She also serves on the board of directors as the corporate secretary with an organization called US Horse Welfare and Rescue. They work to educate people about the plight of America’s horses. Many are currently sold at auction and shipped to other countries under inhumane conditions where they are then killed for human consumption.

Heather Gombos' journey with MicroCare is a testament to her hard work, determination, and commitment to both the company and the community. Her leadership continues to inspire and positively impact the people she works with, helping to shape the future of MicroCare and the communities it serves.
